| Are Penalty Benefits Awarded Too Often in Iowa? »
Did a Democratic legislature exercise its political strength and throw the Iowa Workers' Compensation system into a dizzying tailspin? No. Rational thought overcame political strength at the 2007 Iowa legislative session.
In March, I wrote urging the death of a major statutory change in Iowa. Although introduced, House File 329, which would have repealed an apportionment statute enacted only three years ago. Despite my panic and horor, the Democratically controlled legislature allowed common sense to prevail and this proposed legislation was not enacted. Kudos to our legislature for not disrupting a delicate, long-standing balance for sheer political gain and power!

Thank you for the compliment. Now that I know someone is reading my blog, I will try to do a better job of entering new thoughts. Look for my most recent entries about penalty benefits. There has been a significant development.
