Update on Mileage Rate in Iowa Workers' Compensation Cases

The Iowa Workers' Compensation Commissioner has adopted an administrative rule that results in an automatic change in the applicable medical mileage reimbursement rates each July 1, 2007. The applicable medical mileage reimbursement rate is now equal to the IRS business reimbursement rate in effect on July 1st of each calendar year.

For the period from July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008, the applicable medical mileage reimbursement rate is $0.485 per mile.

If you need clarification or need to clarify the present rate, this information is always available at the Iowa Workers' Compensation Commissioner's website.
